Age-Friendly Strategy

We want Surrey to be an age friendly city where people enjoy lifelong activity and engagement. 

The Surrey Age Friendly Strategy for Seniors provides the key strategies and desired outcomes for developing an age friendly community. 

 

The strategy includes:

Seniors are supported to be active and engaged in their community and engagement practices are in place to prevent isolation.

Seniors have a range of safe, convenient and, accessible affordable transportation options.

Seniors have access to affordable and appropriate housing and support necessary to remain as independent as possible.

Public places, outdoor spaces and buildings are designed to be welcoming, safe and accessible.

Services and Resources for Seniors

In addition to the programs and services below, City of Surrey hosts the Seniors Connector resource and referral program in partnership with Brella Community Services Society. Call 604-531-9400 to be connected to community supports on a range of topics including housing, caregiving, transportation, health and wellness, safety, food security and more.
