Enjoy the fully-accessible playground at Unwin Park, play a sport, or take a walk through the paths.
City parks are open for casual use. To minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission, stay home when sick, stay 2 metres apart, do not gather in groups, and wear a mask in crowded spaces. Spectators for outdoor sports are not permitted as per new public health orders.
Dawn until dusk
Unwin Park is a large community park with tons of fun things to do! With an area of over 14.5 hectares (36 acres) you'll find something for the whole family:
- baseball diamonds
- batting cage
- cricket fields
- soccer fields
- lacrosse boxes
- a basketball court
- 3 picnic shelters
- Jumpstart Inclusive Playground
- water spray park
- outdoor pool
The larger fields tend to get busy in the summer, so be sure to book a field if you have a team sporting event.
Parking is available from 68 Avenue, just east of 132 Street.
Jumpstart Inclusive Playground
In partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, the City of Surrey and Jumpstart have built a universally accessible playground in the park. This is part of the Charity's 'Play Finds A Way' movement, which focuses on removing accessibility barriers to sport and play.
The 12,000-square-foot playground includes accessible play elements such as the We-Go-Round, Sway Fun Glider, Omnispin Spinner, Cozy Dome, We-Saw, Netplex, Smart Play Motion, Sensory Play Center, Rhapsody Music Collection, slides with transfer benches, and a variety of swings, all connected by a double wide accessible ramp system and unitary surfacing with seamless transitions. The accessible play elements (sensory, climbing, motion, interactive and early childhood) are designed to encourage different motor, cognitive and social skills and engage kids' sensory systems.
