REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS

DESCRIPTION OF SCOPE OF WORK

The Work covered under this project consists of the furnishing of all superintendence, overhead, labour, materials, tools, equipment, insurance, fuel, transportation and all things necessary for and incidental to the satisfactory performance and completion of BC Vintage Truck Museum – Reroofing Project, located at 6022 176th Street, Surrey, British Columbia, V3S 4E7 (the “Place of Work”) in strict accordance with the Specifications and accompanying Drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

The general components of the Work include completing the roof renewals as shown on the drawings and as described in the RFQ documents. The Work includes but is not limited to:

.1 Removal and disposal of existing waterproof membrane, roof sheathing, tapered blocking, roof parapet cap and divider flashings, including all related accessories from the flat roof areas down to the existing roof deck;
.2 Repair or replacement of damaged or decayed roof framing / blocking / deck, as identified by the consultant. Work to be performed on a Labour & Materials basis;
.3 Installation of new compact insulated flat roof assembly with slope package as indicated on the drawings.
.4 Installation of flashings to all roof areas complete with all related penetration and curb flashings.
.5 New fully adhered air / vapour barrier with improved transitions at roof perimeter and divider curbs;
.6 Removal and disposal of existing skylights. Demolish one end section of each wall (2) of main roof skylights to make sloped similar to opposing sides.

The detailed scope of Work is as described in the Special Provisions (Schedule B – Appendix 1), Supplementary Specifications (Project) (Schedule B- Appendix 2), and Contract Drawings (listed below) (Schedule B – Appendix 2A).

INFORMATION MEETING

At the time of issuance of this RFQ a meeting has been scheduled as follows:

It is possible that some questions raised, and information provided during the Information Meeting may be the only source of critical information essential to prepare and submit a successful Quotation. Contractors are responsible to ensure they are fully informed and have a clear understanding of the requirements.

Contractors are to examine the site prior to submitting a Quotation to fully acquaint themselves with all existing conditions reasonably inferable from examination of the site and its surroundings and the RFQ and to make allowance for such conditions in the Quotation. By submitting a Quotation, a Contractor represents that it has examined the site fully as to all conditions, contingencies, risks and circumstances, local or otherwise, which might influence or affect the performance of the Work.

Note: No minutes of the information meeting and site tour will be provided

SITE ACCESS

The City will provide site access for Contractors and their subtrades interesting in viewing the site on the date and time specified below. Attendance of this site visit is optional and is not mandatory. Contractors who do not attend are not precluded from submitting a Quotation.

Contractors and their subtrades should ensure that appropriate PPE is worn on site per WorkSafe BC regulations.

ADDENDA


If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFQ, the City Representative will issue a written addendum by posting it on the BC Bid website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca and the City website at www.surrey.ca (collectively, the “Websites”), and upon posting, any addenda will form a part of this RFQ. It is the responsibility of Contractors to check the Websites for addenda. The only way this RFQ may be added to, or amended in any way, is by a formal written addendum. No other communication, whether written or oral, from any person will affect or modify the terms of this RFQ or may be relied upon by any Contractor. By delivery of a Quotation the Contractor is deemed to have received, accepted and understood the entire RFQ, including any and all addenda.
