Gallery Proposals

Surrey Art Gallery welcomes proposals from artists and guest curators for exhibitions in any media and subject. These include solo, group, and touring shows, as well as exhibitions that include work by, for, or about children, or of work evolving out of projects or residencies.

Although we are pleased to receive them, please consider that we receive a large volume of proposals. Most exhibitions at Surrey Art Gallery are not drawn from proposals, and are curated by Gallery staff.

There is no deadline for proposals, and your package will be acknowledged when received.

Download the Surrey Art Gallery Exhibition Proposal Guidelines for more information.

Artist Professional Development & Professional Practice Workshops

These workshops further the practice of contemporary art by offering opportunities for artists who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge in creativity, business, or technical areas. The workshops are led by respected artists, art educators, and arts administrators. Instructors have come from the Lower Mainland, Canada, the United States, and Australia.

Participant and instructor input is sought and incorporated into workshop content and scheduling. Email the Visual Art Programmer with your suggestions.

Check out our events section for upcoming workshops.

Thursday Artist Talks

This free program of illustrated talks and demonstrations by local and regional artists is organized by the Surrey Art Gallery Association.

Taking place on the first Thursday of the month from September to June, this program provides an opportunity for artists to expose their work and ideas to the public. The public gets a chance to see work in a variety of media by artists in their communities.

If you're an artist interested in presenting your work at a Thursday Artist Talk, contact Surrey Art Gallery Association.
