Visit Alderwood Park in South Surrey with the kids for some time on the playground, or a match of tennis or basketball.
City parks are open for casual use. To minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission, stay home when sick, stay 2 metres apart, do not gather in groups, and wear a mask in crowded spaces. Spectators for outdoor sports are not permitted as per new public health orders.
Dawn until Dusk
Alderwood Park was established in 1975 through subdivision of the surrounding neighbourhood. The park is quite unique in that it was developed in coordination with the adjacent townhouse development. As a result, the park is interconnected with the surrounding neighbourhood. You can find access to the park from various locations on McBeth Rd and Lilac Dr, although the best entry point is from the intersection of these roads.
Within the park you'll find a network of walking paths. In the centre of the park you'll find public tennis courts, a basketball court and lots of open greenspace for a picnic. You'll also find a playground in the western portion of the park, next to McBeth Road.
New park upgrades were completed in fall 2020. These upgrades include the installation of a brand new asphalt sport court surface, as well as the relining of the basketball court and brand new hoops and corrugated metal back boards.
