Picnics & Barbeques
Discover the best places to plan a picnic in a Surrey park.
Find tips for planning a picnic or family BBQ in a City of Surrey Park.
Throughout Surrey there are picnic tables and picnic shelters (covered picnic tables). Both types of tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is recommended that you provide your own water and power source as needed when you use a park shelter.
Pack It In, Pack It Out
Help keep Surrey’s Parks clean and beautiful while also diverting waste through the appropriate streams at your home.
When planning your picnic or BBQ, It is best to choose sustainable, reusable and recyclable supplies.
After your picnic or BBQ, make sure you Pack It In, Pack It Out. This means anything that you bring into the park with you, you take home with you.
Natural gas, propane, and charcoal briquettes are permitted if they are being used in ULC/CSA-approved devices for that particular product.
Within City parks, you can only barbeque at picnic table sites.
Natural Gas & Propane
You can barbeque with natural gas and propane at any picnic table site.
Charcoal briquettes are only permitted at picnic table sites that have City-sanctioned coal disposal containers. When the fire danger rating is High or Extreme, no charcoal briquette barbeques are permitted in parks.
