Gallery School Programs are developed by experienced artist-educators and our programs support ongoing engagement in contemporary art, artmaking, and inquiry-based learning as it integrates BC cross-curricular Big Ideas and Learning Standards.
Homes and Habitats: Exploring Nature and Ecology through Art
Grades K−7 | Workshop Fee: $75
This unit of study considers how artists use their practice to explore nature and ecology. Art and science connect as students learn about habitats by sculpting a world for living things and engaging how contemporary art can raise questions of stewardship and sustainability.
Resources include video lessons, a Teachers’ Guide, and printable visual materials paired with takeout clay for your class.
Registration required. Pick-up and class times are flexible.
Printmaking Made Easy: Expressions of Place
Grades K−8 | Workshop Fee: $75
Engage place-based knowledge and practice while teaching elements of printmaking! Students create their own print in relation to places that have personal, cultural, and social significance to them. Program is livestreamed through MS Teams. Teachers’ Guide and artmaking materials provided.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12:45−2:15pm
How to Book
Programs at the Gallery run from September 22, 2021 to June 2, 2022.
Registration times are required; however, a pick-up and drop-off of course materials can be arranged at a mutually convenient time.

Payments and Cancellations
Payment – The City of Surrey will invoice your school directly in the first week of the month your program is scheduled. For inquiries regarding invoicing or payment, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cancellations require a minimum of three weeks’ notice. After this time, the program is non-refundable. Exceptions will be made in the event of school closure.
