South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre
Visit South Surrey Recreation Centre for recreation and art services, a spacious weight room, sport programs in three gymnasiums, a designated pottery studio and much more.
We will continue to adjust programs and services as required to follow the recommendations of the Provincial Health Officer.
Program disruptions or functional closures of facilities may occur if the minimum number of staff required to operate safely are not available to work. Some drop-in activities require reservations. Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre features accessible washrooms, 8 accessible parking stalls and a hearing loop located in gym #3. There are accessible picnic areas right outside the facility. See below for more information on the accessible features of the fitness studio and weight room.
Art services at South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre are offered through Semiahmoo Arts Society.
Learn more about the registered courses and art exhibitions offered through Semiahmoo Arts Society. Art spaces feature a premium pottery studio (including a kiln room), a dedicated art gallery and exhibition hallway spaces, and visual art studio.
There are three gymnasiums at this facility.
Our 8,000 square feet weight room includes:
- 40+ pieces of cardio equipment
- Functional fitness weight training equipment
- Wide selection of weight machines and free weights (5 to 75lbs)
- Stretching area
- Raised stretching mat
- Scitfit Pro 2 Ergometer (arm bike)
- Progression fitness medicine balls (medicine balls with straps)
- Dual Cable Cross machine
- SkiErg machine
- Active Hands, weight-lifting hooks, loop resistance bands & wrist/ankle weights
- Many pieces of equipment are adjustable or can have the seat removed for wheelchair access
We offer 4,000 square feet of fitness space with a hardwood sprung floor and two walls of mirrors. We also have TRX suspension training classes and a spin studio.
We have two dedicated preschool rooms at our facility and one offsite preschool, Elgin Centre. Learn about our preschool programs for more information.
We have a range of seniors activities and programs. Seniors are also invited to visit us at Sources Connections Café and the Intergenerational garden.
