Make sure you have met your residential inspection requirements before scheduling a building inspection.
Once you've met the requirements, schedule your building inspections online and get updates using the Online Inspection Request. To get started, you will first need to call the Client Services Centre at 604-591-4086.
Single-family dwelling inspection requirements
Inspection order for single-family dwelling building permits
- Demolition (if applicable)
- Footings (when poured separate from foundation)
- Sheathing (if applicable)
Paperwork required for each inspection
- Arborist Report must be received and accepted by the trees & landscaping section
- Footing Inspection (where required)
- Survey Certificate
- Geotechnical field review
- Structural field review
- Rough electrical approvals
- Rough plumbing approvals
- Truss Specs
- Mechanical Ventilation Checklist
- Engineer’s field review
- Final electrical approvals
- Final plumbing approvals
- C-B Letter from the Engineer
Additional single-family dwelling requirements
Plumbing rough in approvals and electrical rough in approvals (including low voltage) are required before requesting a framing inspection.
Plumbing final approvals and Electrical final approvals (including low voltage) are required to be approved prior to requesting a final building inspection.
Requirements may vary based on individual circumstances. Approved permits and plans are required on site for all inspections.
The following information will be required to schedule inspections:
- Building permit number
- Inspection type (ex. framing)
- Phone number
Building inspection requests made without the proper information, or plumbing and electrical approvals, cannot be processed.
