Youth Speak Up Forum
November 10, 2023, Surrey City Hall
The Youth Speak Up forum is an annual event organized by the Surrey Leadership Youth Council team, held every fall at City Hall, where Surrey’s youth come together to discuss various community topics. This full day forum provides a platform for young people to voice their opinions, participate in workshops and activities, and engaging in meaningful discussions that can lead to positive changes in our community.

Band-Aid
Held each fall, local youth singers, songwriters, solo artists, bands and DJs receive development and mentorship.
Band-Aid emerged out of the community. Youth musicians want to use their powers for good—to create a positive culture for young bands in Surrey. They want to collaborate, work together and learn together. Band-Aid is presented in partnership with Surrey Civic Theatres, Surrey Youth, and Healthy Communities.
Surrey Steps Up
Held each spring, Surrey Steps Up is an annual showcase of the positive impact youth have on the city. Celebrate the amazing young people who are transforming our schools and communities through good deeds, community projects, creating art and more.
Surrey Steps Up is returning to City Hall on March 15, 2024.

Surrey Slam Jam
Held each spring, join your friends for a basketball tournament, dance battle, and art showcase.
The 2023 Surrey Slam Jam was a huge success seeing over 500 participants at the Guildford Recreation Centre. Youth between the ages of 13-18 experienced a day full of festivities, great prizes, and culture! The Surrey Slam Jam featured exciting activations like beatboxing, dance, and art workshops. The Slam Jam will be returning to Guildford Recreation Centre in 2024.
SASSY Awards
The SASSY (Service Above Self by Surrey Youth) Awards are an annual celebration of youth who make a difference in our community.

Surrey Rides
Surrey Rides is an exciting annual event held throughout the summer to celebrate Surrey’s vibrant skate community with a range of contests, jams and demos for youth enthusiasts of skateboarding, scootering, and BMX.
