Meet Councillor Doug Elford.

I have lived in Surrey for 36 years and worked as an environmental protection officer in the City of Vancouver. I ran with the Safe Surrey Coalition.

Being a grassroots community activist with a proven track record, I have listened to the residents and heard their need to have a more balanced Council and pledge to build a public service that is fair to all people in Surrey.

Key Projects

I will work towards creating a safe, liveable community. In addition to being part of the Newton Community Association, I have volunteered in the local sports community, including the Newton Canadian Baseball Association.

My belief is that it is time for strong principled leadership in Surrey. We need SkyTrain, Surrey’s own Police Force.  Doug believes that Surrey needs to focus on housing, affordability, homelessness, public safety, crime reduction, improved transit, and financial responsibility.

Surrey has immense possibilities and rich opportunities to be a world-class city. I am committed to building a vibrant and sustainable community.
