Agriculture, Environment and Investment Advisory Committee
This Committee advises Council on agricultural and food security issues, the implication of climate change on the environment, and identifies investment opportunities on agricultural sectors.
The Agriculture, Environment, and Investment Advisory Committee will provide advice to Council on agricultural and food security issues and the implication of climate change on environment and agricultural land. The committee will also advise and assist City Council in developing proactive plans for investment opportunities on agricultural sectors where current non-productive farm lands can be converted to be productive farms, thus addressing food security while making sure the impact of climate change on the environment and agricultural lands is being addressed. The committee will work on issues referred by Council, promote increased access to healthy, local food for residents, proposed changes to by-laws that affect the agriculture and environment, and other topics where comments are requested.
