Mail ballot voting is available to all City of Surrey residents and non-resident property electors who are eligible to vote. 

Request a mail ballot package

Eligible voters can request a mail ballot package between September 12 and October 12, 2022. 

In order to submit a request, you will need to upload two pieces of acceptable identification that includes your name, address and signature.

Mail ballot packages will be mailed out until Wednesday, October 5, 2022. After October 5, packages will only be available by picking it up from City Hall.

Mail ballot packages will be delivered beginning September 26, 2022 and must be received by the Chief Election Officer by 8pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

Eligible voters in hospitals

Eligible voters admitted into hospital may request a mail ballot package until noon on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the discretion of the Chief Election Officer. Please advise an election official at if you require a mail ballot package.

School trustee mail ballots for Barnston Island

Barnston Island residents are part of the Surrey School District. Eligible voters are entitled to vote for school trustee. Follow the steps for requesting a mail ballot package in order to cast your ballot. 

Returning the mail ballot package

You are responsible for ensuring that your completed mail ballot package is received by the Chief Election Official no later than 8pm on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

  • Delivered to the Legislative Services Department on the 5th floor at Surrey City Hall, 13450 104 Avenue, Surrey, BC, V3T 1V8

After business hours

  • 7 days/week
  • Drop off boxes are available in the City Hall mail slot located at the parking level P1 entrance or the mail slot located at the City Plaza main entrance.

By mail

The mail ballot package can be delivered to City Hall by courier or Canada Post.
